A Sip From Your Cup

There is a cup before you. Lift it, and take a sip.

What is there for you to drink?

Is it sweet?

Is it welcoming?

Is it warm, and nourishing,

and do you crave more of the elixir within?

Or is your cup bitter?

Or bland? Does it seem thick? Or too thin?

Is it stale, and tepid?

Does it leave a bad taste in your mouth?

Is your cup hard for you to drink?

Does it leave you feeling cold, and unfulfilled?

Perhaps your cup is spicy, and full of zest!

Hot and firey, does your cup thrill you?

Do you take it in great gulps,

washing up on faraway shores under its influence,

spilling it everwhere, and sharing deeply,

before joyfully drinking deep again?

Lift your cup, and take another sip.

Taste again what is there, and take its measure.

The flavor, the smell, the sense.

Does it suit you, your cup? Is it to your liking?

Do you want something more? Perhaps less?

Or….. maybe just something different.

Taste again, and drink it down!

Is it heavy with remorse, and sticky regret,

leaving a bad taste in your mouth

that you can’t seem to get rid of?

Do you want to spit it back out?

Answer without fear, and taste until you know.

If your cup suits you,

and leaves you feeling satisfied,

Then, change nothing, and go your merry way. Congratulations! All is well.

Good fortune and good cheer awaits!

But, if it is not, then….. all well is not!

Your cup, and its contents, should be a joy, not a chore!

Select your cup, and choose well what is in it.

It is, after all, yours to drink.

You’ll want to savor every drop!
